The Word for Sunday’s Message: “The Great Escape Salvation” Hebrews 1:1-4; 2:1-4
Several weeks back we looked at the subject of sin, and determined that many do not take sin as seriously as it ought to be taken. Sin is deadly. Sin will bring eternal death if not confessed and repented.
I’m afraid that many view salvation the same way. Salvation is simply viewed as an escape from the fires of hell. The Apostle Paul asked, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?” Yes, salvation provides an escape from the eternal torment of hell.
But salvation provides so much more. It brings joy to the soul. As he confessed and repented of his sins, King David prayed, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation.
Salvation brings new life, we are regenerated. Salvation brings pardon. We are justified before a holy God. We are brought into the family of God. We are adopted.
It truly is a great salvation.
